The sue game!

Rakhi Sawant

He said, she said, they all said. Until, someone said: "I'll sue you." Perhaps the second most impactful set of three words after 'I love you', 'I'll sue you' is losing its edge somewhat.

Heck, everyone's saying it these days. For everything, from a tempest in a teacup to a gentle gust. Naturally, those at the receiving end are far from trembling leaves. Like Ishq Bector, who is probably humming his Hiphopper tune in the face of a similar threat: from none other than Rakhi Sawant. Yes, the shoot-from-the-lips lady has vowed, "I will sue Ishq Bector. He will have to pay for it". So will she, actually, what with the lawyer's fees and all. So while she works out the logistics, here's a look at others who pulled defamation suits out of their sleeves. Or maybe just threatened to.

Satish Sharma VS detractors
In a bid to prove his innocence when allegations flew thick and fast about how he had bribed MPs to vote for the UPA during 2008's confidence vote (through his aide Nachiketa Kapur), Congress leader Satish Sharma threatened to sue those behind this 'expose'. The defamation case was never filed. Smart move, we say.

Dheeraj Dixit VS Veena Malik
Veena Malik tossed her lustrous mane and pouted out freelance photographer Dheeraj Dixit's name as a co-matchfixer along with her ex-boyfriend, Mohammed Asif. Dheeraj hadn't gambled for this, and threatened to sue Veena. "I am going to sue Veena Malik for tarnishing my image. I am talking to my lawyers as to how much damages can be claimed," he thundered. Still calculating, are you Dheeraj?

Yuvraaj VS Onir
One fine day, newcomer Yuvraaj Parashar smarted and seethed over how director Onir had outraged his delicate modesty. The gobsmacked Onir then threatened to sue the aspiring actor, which he promptly did, but only for a token sum of `1. Onir, after all, simply had a point to prove. Yuvraaj, determined to play his part till the end, lobbed a counter-threat: that he would sue Onir instead. And then, just as suddenly, came the apology, from Yuvraaj of course. Don't ask us how the tables turned, Dunno y... na jaane kyun...

Mohammed Siddiqui VS Shoaib Malik
After the letters, photographs and nikaah namas failed to do it, Mohammed Siddiqui, father of Ayesha Siddiqui, who claimed to be Shoaib Malik's first wife, threatened to sue Shoaib if he didn't divorce his daughter before marrying Sania Mirza. Surprisingly, the defamation suit disappeared just as quickly as Shoaib's name did from the Pakistan cricket team list.

Bappi Lahiri VS Abhijeet
When singer Abhijeet took potshots at Bappida on a television show, calling him a "besharam sangeetkar", a tearful Bappi told the press, "Bardasht ki bhi ek hadh hoti hai!" And then he decided to make Abhijeet face the music. "I'm definitely suing Abhijeet for defamation. He has to prove in court that I'm besharam!" he announced. Tall order, that. And Bappida, who is as generous as his proportions show, is giving Abhijeet all the time he needs to prove the alleged "besharmi".

Shilpa Shetty VS Kavita Kundra
Raj Kundra's fuming ex-wife Kavita declared to the media that Shilpa didn't just loot UP and Bihar, but her home too: she had stolen her husband. Shilpa did not take too kindly to the home-wrecker tag and threatened to sue the now ex-Mrs Kundra if she continued to tarnish her image. Kavita had said, "Our marriage was in a rough patch but I was certain we could make it work for the sake of our new baby daughter. But then along came Shilpa. Suddenly Raj changed and now he wants a divorce." It seems the accusations weren't reprehensible enough to drag her to court for, after all.

Rakhi Sawant, others join Raj’s film workers’ sena

Mumbai, March 24 – Item girl Rakhi Sawant and top Marathi film stars have joined the Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (MNCKS), an affiliate of Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a top office-bearer said here Thursday.

Some of the biggest male and female actors of the Marathi film industry became members of MNCKS during its ongoing membership drive, said union general secretary Shalini Thackeray. She is the wife of Jeetendra Thackeray, a cousin of MNS founder Raj Thackeray, the estranged nephew of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.

‘So far, we have notched over 25,000 members, both from the Marathi film industry as well as Hindi film industry. And the list is growing,’ Thackeray told IANS.

Through the MNCKS, the MNS will take up the issue of foreign artistes being hired in Bollywood which deprives local talent of many opportunities.

‘We shall also launch a struggle to elevate the status of Marathi film industry and bring it at par with Bollywood through different methods,’ Thackeray said.

These would include allotting prime time slots for screening Marathi movies in multiplexes to attract higher viewership.

She pointed out that most multiplexes in big cities like Mumbai and Pune exhibit Marathi movies as a token to stay within government regulations.

However, they are screened at odd hours like afternoons or late nights when there are no takers, and then abruptly yanked off on grounds of poor patronage, she said.

The film industry in the state comprises over 250,000 people working at different levels in various departments. However, Thackeray said that her union has all departments under a single roof with a centralised decision-making authority to resolve problems.

Recently, the MNCKS helped out aged and ailing Bollywood artistes like A.K. Hangal and ‘Sholay’ editor M.S. Shinde.

On an average, around 200 new Marathi films ranging from modest to big budget investments hit the screens every year.

Incidentally, Thackeray herself hit the headlines two years ago when she became the first Thackeray family daughter-in-law to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-West constituency, but lost out to Gurudas Kamat, now a union minister.

Rakhi to play a sexy teacher

There's been much speculation in recent days about designer Charu Parashar making her debut in Bollywood by designing Rakhi Sawant's outfits for the upcoming movie "Qasam Se Qasam Se".

When we met the reality star and the designer in Delhi recently, they both put all the claims to rest. Rakhi told us, rather vehemently, "Yes, Charu is doing my

costumes for my next film. For the first time, someone is giving me a different look. I am crazy about saris, blouses and ghagra cholis and she has done fantastic clothes for me for my several shows. I have known her for three months now. And for this role of a sexy teacher, she's giving me a lot of sexy saris."

Tell her of the recent controversy where the makers of the movie said that Charu's not part of the project, and Rakhi quips, "Miscommunication ho gaya hoga. We have a right to talk about us but not about anyone else. So, Charu can talk about my clothes and not the cast's. I have a message from the producer ki humne kuch nahi bola hai Charu ko. Maine kaha hai you have to apologise to her, but unhone kuch nahi bola hai. So, it's all solved. Aur, anyway, kaun kya bolta hai, isse kya matlab hai? Swayamvar Part 2 hoga toh bhi she will do my clothes."

'Rakhi, Mika an item'

Rakhi Sawant who plays a sex-education teacher in a film has danced on an item song sung by Mika.

Recently controversy queen Rakhi Sawant patched up with one of her first enemies of Bollywood – Mika Singh. On a recent episode of the standup comedy show Comedy Circus , Rakhi Sawant hugged Mika Singh (who had come as a celebrity judge) and publicly declared that they are friends again.

Now it seems like Rakhi is trying to take their friendship to another level. She recently did what she is best at – play an item girl. And the item song that she danced on was sung by Mika. Ever since the item number, Rakhi has also been raving about Mika and his item song which goes something like ' Bolne Mein Kya Jaata Hain '.

Living up to her sex-bomb image, Rakhi is playing a teacher in the film named Delnaz Doodhwala who is born and brought up abroad Rakhi. More interestingly she teaches sex education in the film. Titled Qasam Se Qasam Se , the film is directed by debutante Ashfaque Makrani and will mark the debut of Azim & Faith. In the item song Azim and his gang is trying to grab Rakhi's attention.

Rakhi Sawant wears a diamond as her tooth!

Mar 5, Pune- Rakhi Sawant, the drama queen of India, is back in news again. She is notable for her juicy comments and nakhras. Wherever she goes, controversy follows her like a shadow.

This time, she took the help of her tooth, to grab media attention. For quite sometime, she was missing from the gossip columns. And now that she has got a diamond tooth, she candidly spoke about her new ornament to the whole world. After getting layers of plastics implanted on her body, she is set to beautify her smile.

When asked why she preferred a diamond tooth, she blatantly spoke that she loves jewellery. Her tooth is made up of pure diamonds and is on her left jaw. She longed for it, and now she has already got it. She also added that she does not like Indian jewellery like nose studs and all, because it does not go with her modern glam look. So she prefers to wear those ornaments which go on well with her look.

Our own item girl Rakhi thinks her overdone plastic surgeries and heavy makeup are no longer sufficient to glam up her look, and thus got diamonds set on her tooth.
