Owing to the demands of the script or that of the sequence in a film, Bollywood actress often goes topless, donning little or no clothes. One need not be judgmental about it so long the revealing posture does not infringe upon the artist’s comfort zone. Quite a few films directed by the legendary Raj Kapoor, featured women scantily clothed. But none of them looked ugly or atrocious for the director with his eye for detail could ensure the artistic appeal and beauty.
1.Kareena Kapoor Qurbaan one of the releases of Karan Johar portrayed Kareena topless. The film dealing with terrorism which has become a worldwide phenomenon featured the off screen lovers Kareena and Saif as husband and wife. In enacting a close shot involving her beau Saif Kareena exposed her completely. Bebo looked perfectly comfortable and awesome in the romantic sequence.
2. Neha DhupiaHot and sizzling
Neha Dhupia, who went out of reckoning for quite a while, has been quick to reassure her presence with a bang. As part of her campaign in favour of eco friendliness, Neha went topless to feature in a calendar. The calendar geared to the cause of saving environment has the stylish actress highlighting the various shades and elements constituting nature. The photography by Jatin Kampani is a perfect blend of sensuousness and aesthetics.
3. Bipasha Basu It is nothing unusual for dusky Bengali bombshell,
Bipasha Basu to go topless. Notwithstanding her bold ways, the reputed model and actress is endowed with the innate capability to carry herself with élan and dignity. Very recently Bips went sans clothes to feature on the front cover of a glamour magazine, appearing daring and stunningly glamorous as always.
4. Mallika SherawatMallika Sherawat does not lag far behind when it comes to revealing. On account of not making much headway in acting, the actress has decided on a few item numbers. One of them will be enacted free of cost. To make her presence felt she has hit upon a topless pose to make it to the cover page of a well known men’s magazine. The topless beauty manages an unsuccessful blend of oriental and occidental. Red bindi and heavily designed jewellary in pearl and gold falls out of place with mini skirt and exposed chest.
5. Mandira BediUnfortunately during the recently concluded World Cup
Mandira Bedi could not make it to the commentary box along with some of the leading names in cricket. The whole nation was thus deprived of having a glimpse of her body hugging, transparent chiffons and spaghetti lined blouses. Much to the amazement of men, Mandira followed Mallika and Bipasha’s suit. She featured completely topless on the cover page of Vogue, a popular glamour magazine.
It is surprising and outrageous finding a great many of our actresses baring and going topless for the sake of highlighting themselves. Despite deleting the ethical angle of such stunts and overlooking the social context of our country, one does not understand the rational behind such moves. Apart from flaunting and catering to the sensuous appeal of a few men, they have no artistic purpose to serve. Neither do they serve to impress the producers and directors of Bollywood. For establishing ones root in acting there are other talents to be honed, rather than focus on cheap sensuousness.
